Level 2! Week 2! Eats!

First things first, I just got done doing level 2 of the 30 Day Shred and I AM IN LOVE!!! It is so much better than level 1! I do believe it will be my favorite!! I am taking my starting measurements tonight! Speaking of measurements, I measured my tummy at the belly button and have lost 1 inch in about a month!! Go me!

Week 2 of half marathon training was great! The tempo run was good, although I need better treadmill music! What is/are your favorite workout song(s)? I did some walking/eliptical/stair stepper/bike for cross training 1 day and it was nice to switch it up! The 6 mile run, as you probably read below was so amazing! I came home enthused, but exhausted! I laid down(I got up at 6 AM Saturday morning and cleaned/made breakfast from 6 til about 11) to try and take a nap, but the runner's high took over me! I couldn't sleep and was up until 3:00AM. I love love love running and I used to love love love sleeping, but now my energy level is high and I feel more alive every day! Goodbye naps, Hello Life :) I am so motivated and I only grow more motivated by the day!!! :)

Now, on to the eats from Saturday! I had an exceptional eating day that day. The morning started out with cleaning, a run to the grocery store and then it was coffee time!

My coffee is typically with 1 tblsp fat free coconut creme creamer and a splash of milk.

I got hungry at about 9:00 and decided to try some eggs with spinach and mushrooms. I had a kiwi on the side!

I loved the spinach and mushrooms sauteed in a tsp of olive oil.

After my run, I came home to a protein shake....made with Jay Robbs' vanilla protein powder, water, and a banana!

I was starving at around 9 Saturday night and decided to have a bean and cheese burrito(whole wheat 100 calorie tortilla) with a side of broccoli topped with cheese.

I also had a make your own frozen yogurt, but ate about 10 small bites and put the rest of it in the freezer. Love ate the rest the next day(I had a few bites too).

Todays eats were awesome.
Breakfast was pb and banana sandwich on a whole wheat arnold sandwich thin and a cup of coffee with creamer and milk.
Lunch was a salad with mango vinigarette for starters. Then, I made spaghetti squash and topped it with spaghetti sauce with protein soy crumbles(saw this product in the skinny girl cookbook) and cheese. It was sooooo good!! I could hardly tell the "meat" wasn't real meat.
Afternoon snack was a cup of fruit.
Dinner was rice and chicken with a tapioca cup for desert. YUM!!
I have had about 100 oz of water so far today and should get in about 28 more before bed.

I am so excited for my weigh in on Thursday morning. I will be at 125 or below :)

Weigh In and Day 2!

First off, thanks for all of the comments on yesterdays post! You all had a lot of great things to say. The verdict for myself is definitely have snacks for a backup, but listen to when and what my body wants! Also, Morgan pointed out that I should be careful with the Clif bars, and she is totally right. I started eating a whole one and then went down to half, but I think that will be my AM snack for my long runs on Sundays and maybe half a bar before my evening workouts if I am ravenous! I am so excited to see NEW followers!! HI EVERYONE!! WELCOME!!

So, I weighed at my gym today and I am now at

127!!!

I lost .4 lbs and couldn't be happier! Especially because I had 32 oz. of Gelato(Italian Ice Cream) and that's A LOT! I didn't do fabulous on eating, but I think I did okay! Next week, I am hoping to see 125.something :) I am sure I can do it! Just got to stick to eating right and cutting back on the Gelato!!

Today is Day 2 of half marathon training and I feel GREAT!!! It is also Day 2 of the "30 Day Shred"!! That's right! I am going to do it for 30 days and actually stick to it!! I will be taking some before pictures hopefully tonight! It's going to be a tough 30 days, but the more I push, the better my body will be! I do need strength training pretty badly! My body fat is 26.2% and it was at 22% just a couple of weeks ago. The scale might be wrong, but I doubt it!

Today in Food and Workout: Day 1

I am going posting my food and workouts for the day. I'll do the plan first and what was actually done second.

Today's plan for exercise was to do day 1 of the 10k program I have decided to do. So, 3 mile run + strength.

Food for today was pretty decent.

Breakfast- Harvest Peach yogurt w/ 1/4 cup of Apple Cinnamon granola.
Snack-Banana
Lunch-Chicken Salad Sandwich(2 slices multi grain bread w/ chicken, grapes, a little mayo, and lots of mustard inside) and a side salad with a little dressing! It was delicious!
Dinner-Chicken tenders, broccoli w/ cheese sauce and a side salad with tomatoes.
Desert-Vita top muffin w/ whipped cream and mint chips
Kind of a high calorie day, but I don't think i'm eating enough right now as i'm not losing anything and only eat 1200 or so calories a day. So, i'm upping it to see how I do over a weeks period of time.

When I got home from work, I went to the track. I ran 3 miles at 10:59 pace. I'm working on my speed right now. I'm a slow runner, so it will take some time, but i'll get faster. I will be doing the "30 Day Shred" after finishing this post.

Overall, I think I had a decent day! I'm going to try to not have the mint chips on my desert for the next few weeks, as I looked at the calories and there's 210 calories in 3 tablespoons....GEESH!!

Good and Bad....

Saturday started out being the best day EVER!! Ended not great! I'm doing this bullet form, because my brain is just fuzzy and not really processing.

  • Reef tour was a hit. We probably had 50 or 60 people come over to look at our fish tank. Everyone was impressed and that made me feel great, because Love really works hard on it and he deserves all of the wonderful compliments!! I'm so proud of him!!!!!
  • I went on a 2.5 mile run and did the "30 day Shred" and I was feeling great!!
  • Went out with my mom, dad, and Love to Cheesecake Factory and ate really well, but did have some cheesecake. It was delicious!!
  • Saturday morning I put on my "goal jeans", they're a size 6. I have a little muffin top, but they fit!! I'm a 6! Love said he's really proud of me and it feels so good to hear that!
  • After dinner my parents came back to  the house and I poured my mother and myself some wine. We were just talking and my dad said "We have something to tell you"! I said "Who died?"! Then, my mom said,"we're getting a divorce!"! My heart, my whole body stopped and I laughed and told them they must be joking! They weren't! I'll probably be sharing more about how I feel about this in the future, but right now, i'm shocked.

Run, Tiffi, Run...

I don't think i've ever posted my name before, it's Tiffani...with an "I".

Anyways, the new shoes are perfect!! I ran my fastest mile last night since starting the training program! The second mile was a lot slower, but it was my first "tempo" run ever. So, I was exhausted by lap 7. Overall actually, last night was my fastest 2 mile run. I did it in 22 minutes :) I hope to get that into the under 20 min range soon. I want to be running an 8 or 9 minute mile. I do understand that I am a slow runner, I always have been, but now I have the tools to make myself faster(new shoes, researched being a faster runner lol).

I did skip "The Shred" last night! We're getting ready for "Reef Tour" which starts tomorrow. I'll have a lot of free time tomorrow to tell you what it's about, but this week has been clean, clean, clean, and scrub, scrub, scrub.

Have a nice day, y'all.

Jillian, Shred My Love Handles, Please!!

Starting yesterday(October 1st), I decided to begin the "30 Day Shred" program!

I am on Day 2 and it's a kick ass workout. I can feel the burn basically every minute. I had to take a couple of breaks, but only a second or two. So, i'm not all too disappointed in myself.

I am on Week 5 of my training program and I feel great!!! As you can tell, if you clicked the link, i'm running 2.5 miles for 4-6 days. Today, I did day 4 and I feel so confident now!

Let me just say, I am so happy that I chose to start this running program and now "The Shred"! It's made a huge difference in my life and i'm loving every moment of it!! I will not be weighing myself for a while, because i'd like to SEE the change with my eyes, not let my weight be the thing I see!! I get discouraged easily, so I think NOT weighing will be the best!!
