Let's Talk....

So, this weekend I have really thought about a few things that have changed about my body and I thought I would share. Just a fair warning, this is a TMI post for just a minute, but not the whole thing and I promise not to be gross.

First things first, my energy level is quite amazing! I wake up happy, I workout, I go to work, I come home, I clean, I cook(or get takeout), and I go to bed. I used to take naps close to everyday, but now, I rarely take naps. Love took a 3 hour nap Saturday(he worked early) and I stayed up. I cleaned, stained cabinets, worked out a little and played with the dogs. We got up together at 6:30, but I had all the energy in the world. I am still surprised that I don't take naps. I deal with a touch of insomnia these days. I go to bed between 10pm and 12am and get up at 4:45am most days. So, I really need to work on getting sleep, so I have a plan. I will share this in a later post!

Secondly, I have never been *AHEM* regular in the potty department. It was normal to not poop for 3 days. I bet you I dropped the kids off at the pool maybe 2 times a week, 3 if I was lucky. Now, I drink 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning, I pack lots of fruits, veggies, and fiber into my diet. Plus, I drink over 100 oz. of water a day. Now, I go at least 2 times, if not 3 or 4 times a day. I love the feeling of not being "plugged" up like I used to. The down side to how regular I am is I have freaking gas pretty badly some days(okay, more like 4 days out of the week). Love always says,"Wow, that was lady like!!! I remember when you would try to hold it in, but now you just let it rip!" I always blame the dogs, but he doesn't believe me! Haha!

Last but not least, the food my body craves. I am currently going off of sweets and treats for 2 week, today is day 4 and it is not that bad. My body craves veggies, fruits and yogurt, which is a long ways from Quesadillas, cookies, and my all time favorite cheesy bean and rice burritos a la Taco Bell. Now, I still remember how much I love those burritos, but I have not had one in almost a year. I love me some banana, kiwi, salad, broccoli and my body craves those now. It is such a great feeling.

That is great that you've had so many positive outcomes from your new habits. For me, the energy that comes from eating right and exercising is huge. I notice that if I eat a big bagel or something else white in the morning, I feel exhausted for the rest of the day. This keeps me on track.

Congrats on all the great changes. For me, it's more about my strength and posture. My body is just feeling much much stronger than ever before and I'm starting to notice some muscle definition under the surface. Can't wait until I get rid of the fat so I can see the muscle. :)

Haha on the gas thing..hope it settles down! I never heard of the phrase "dropping the kids off at the pool" - that's funny too!

Changes on me?
I won't get into bathroom habits, but there are a few changes I'm enjoying: being able to easily put on/take off my rings, my elbows, knees, and shoulders have more definition. I can easily bend over and touch my toes/tie my shoes. I can zip up my long boots (still snow where I live!). I can wear heeled shoes again without killing the arches of my feet...

Sorry to go on and on! I guess there are more changes than I realized!

haha I can totally relate about the "regularity" issues. I was the same way. I used to tell my husband that I was jealous that he went at the same time every morning! But since eating better and mostly cutting out the processed stuff, things have really worked themselves out in that department!

Thanks so much for sharing those changes with us! It's really motivating to read about changes other than weight loss - makes it more of a whole person thing. I think the main change I've noticed since I started my journey is that the more water I drink, and fruit I eat, and veggies, the more energy I have. And the opposite is true too, if I eat junk, I really feel it - I feel terrible! Which is a good motivator to stay away from it!

I'm still waiting for the energy to come for me. I hear all the time how much more energy people have once they start eating better and exercising but I'm still just as tired as I used to be (if not more!).

I've only been focusing on eating healthy for about a month now and haven't seen any changes in my body. I just love how much more in control I feel. I don't feel the need to "cheat" as much as I did before, exercise regularly (even if I do moan & complain my whole way there), and drink plenty of water. I'm just happy that I haven't fallen off the wagon yet and I'm determined to make it work this time1
